The John Murray Archive at the National Library of Scotland has been added to the UK Memory of the World Register. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) established the register in 2010 to highlight some of the UK's lesser-known items of historical interest. It focuses on archive, library items and collections of outstanding universal value, with a remit to promote their merits. Containing over 250,000 items, the John Murray Archive covers more than 200 years of John Murray publishing.
