The Bodleian Libraries are looking at ways to increase access to our music scores through crowd-sourcing. From summer 2011, some 6000 digitised music scores, mostly from the period 1860-1880 and designed for home entertainment, will be available online. Because this material is largely uncatalogued, we are developing an environment which will allow, and encourage, description of the images through crowd-sourcing and are exploring additional enhancements such as music character recognition and online performances. At the moment, we are trying to make sure that the title of the project truly reflects what the initiative is about. As community involvement will determine the project's success, we are starting as we mean to go on by asking our potential users to comment on the project name
