Talking about Family History (UK)

Family history has seen a phenomenal growth in popularity over the past decade. The volume of digitised records, including census records, has added to the ways in which we can find out about our personal pasts. Talking About Family History, April 16, 2011, will provide an introduction to the main sources for studying family histories, and look at some of the electronic resources available to help you in your searches. Curators from the British Library will talk about our collections of Electoral Registers, Newspapers and India Office Records. Experts from findmypast.co.uk will introduce digitised census records, and other resources available. We will also ask why family history holds such fascination, and how we communicate our research. Other activities will include a chance to talk to experts in family history research. Talking About Family History is presented by the British Library in association with findmypast.co.uk
