Skype allows Fayetteville library to host author events for free (USA)
When librarians Monica Kuryla and Leah Kraus sent e-mails to more than a dozen authors last spring, inviting them to appear at Fayetteville Free Library via Skype, they hoped to hear back from at least one. "We were thinking if we get one, that would be amazing," says Kuryla, who is director of virtual and innovative services at the library. "Within 24 hours, almost every single author replied and said what a great idea. We were just shocked and excited that so many authors were open and willing to do this."
