Parents have told of their fears that their local libraries will close as their children go back to school. After a judicial review, the High Court is to rule in October on Brent council's plans to close libraries in Neasden, Cricklewood, Barham Park, Kensal Rise, Preston and Tokyngton. Hundreds of residents have signed a petition calling on Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt to look into the closures, which parents said would have a "devastating" effect on children, particularly those who have no other access to books - Evening Standard
