This talk takes a look beyond the day-to-day purpose of railway timetables, to consider how they reveal changes in the pace, regularity and frequency of mobility in the 19th century. Dr Tony Wakeford is a historical geographer with research interests in the economic and social influence of 19th century railway development. He is a lecturer in social sciences at the Open University and is also the magazine editor for the Friends of The UK National Archives
