New online MLS degree program at the University at Buffalo

"The Department of Library and Information Studies at SUNY's University at Buffalo has announced the initiation of an MLS online degree program, with courses beginning in fall 2010. The MLS degree program is accredited by the American Library Association. The online program was developed to serve the needs of off-campus students preparing to enter public, academic, and special libraries--with an emphasis on reference services. Students will be part of a 24-student cohort and will enroll in two courses each semester, and one course in each of two summer sessions, for a total of six courses each year. They will follow a prescribed program of study, but have the option to substitute up to two three-credit courses from Buffalo's MLS course offerings for any of the online program courses (with the exception of the Department’s required core courses)."
