The finalists for the
2005 Charles Taylor Prize honouring literary non-fiction include the authors of a personal story about recovering from alcohol addiction and an eyewitness tale of the invasion of Iraq. The $25,000 prize, to be awarded February 28, celebrates the book that "best demonstrates and combines an uncommon command of the English language, an elegance of style and a subtlety of thought and perception"
