Human chain protest at Great Ayton library (UK)

Villagers came up with a novel idea in their campaign to save their local library. About 70 protesters made a "human book chain" in a protest against the potential closure of Great Ayton library. Carrying books and banners they made their way around the building which North Yorkshire County Council says will close unless a community-led solution, led by volunteers, is found to steer its future. Further events are being planned and campaigners have set up a meeting with MP William Hague seeking help and advice for their plight
