The plan had been that most people would skip this issue; now everyone will! Cites & Insights 6:10, August/September 2006, will appear some time in August, most likely late August. IMLS Calls for 2007 Conservation Project Support Grant Applications
The Institute of Museum and Library Services is accepting grant applications to the agency's FY 2007 Conservation Project Support program. "Roughly 190 million objects held in America’s collecting institutions are in need of treatment," said agency director Dr. Anne-Imelda M. Radice citing the Heritage Health Index, the first comprehensive survey of the condition of preservation at museums, libraries, and archives. "We must do better. I strongly encourage museums to apply for these grants."

LMS titles moving to OUP in 2007
The three London Mathematical Society journals (Bulletin, Journal, Proceedings) will be moving from Cambridge UP to Oxford UP in 2007. The move will bring complete archival coverage for the journals into the institutional subscription. The current backfiles at Cambridge provide access from 1997. Oxford's implementation will push the limits back to: Proceedings (1865), Journal (1926), and Bulletin (1969)
CrossRef and Microsoft agreement
CrossRef, the cross-publisher linking network with over 1,600 participating publishers, has announced that it had reached an agreement with Microsoft Corp. who will become the first official CrossRef Web Services Search Partner. CrossRef will provide Microsoft with a bulk feed of metadata from hundreds of participating CrossRef member publishers

Cambridge University Press acquires CABI Journals
Cambridge University Press and CABI have announced announce the acquisition by Cambridge University Press of the CABI primary journals list, consisting of 15 titles either owned or published by CABI on behalf of various Learned Societies. The CABI list expands and complements Cambridge University Press's existing journals portfolio of over 200 academic and professional journals and significantly builds its collection in the life sciences. Cambridge will continue to publish the CABI list with current editors and Societies with effect from 1 July 2006

The British Library acquires 'My Ladye Nevells Booke' for the nation
My Ladye Nevells Booke, one of the finest music manuscripts of the Elizabethan age, has been acquired by the British Library as a result of a successful fundraising campaign. The manuscript was accepted by HM Government in lieu of Inheritance Tax via the Acceptance in Lieu scheme managed by MLA and allocated to the British Library with substantial additional funding from the National Heritage Memorial Fund, The Art Fund, as well as The Golsoncott Foundation, Friends of the British Library, Friends of the National Libraries and many private donors
