The Linda Hall Library, a private library of science, engineering, and technology in Kansas City, MO, has announced that it has acquired a 464-year old edition of Narratio Prima, by mathematician Georg Joachim Rheticus, a disciple of Copernicus. The book cost $1.5 million, paid for by the library's private funders. Published in Latin in 1540, the book is one of the few first editions still in existence. The book is now being displayed at the library and in an online edition
