"Founded in January 2009, Choose What You Read is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing free books to London's commuters as a reaction to the tonnes of freepapers thrust out and thrown away everyday. We address the environmental and cultural problems caused by the freepapers. We believe our resources should be better spent. We would like to see books and newspapers of choice become more prominent than the freepapers we are continuously handed. Every month since the start of the year we've handed out free books at stations all over London to try to help encourage this. All of our books are donated and are kept in circulation through the use of our drop-boxes and return points. The campaign promotes reading, recycling and, above all, choice. We are a growing community united by a need for change. Together we would like to see our city's individuality reflected in its reading material." Next handout is Monday November 2 at these stations: Liverpool Street, Kings Cross, Euston, Charing Cross, Waterloo, Paddington, Westminster
