2008 Guardian first book award shortlist announced

The shortlist for the 2008 Guardian first book award has been announced. The shortlist comprises two non-fiction titles, The Rest Is Noise by Alex Ross and Owen Matthews' Stalin's Children, as well as God's Own Country by Ross Raisin, Booker-shortlisted A Fraction of the Whole by Steve Toltz and A Case of Exploding Mangoes, by Mohammed Hanif
