2008 24-hour Freedom to Read Marathon
"24-Hour Freedom to Read Marathon celebrates the freedom to read and the freedom of expression. Exercise your fundamental freedoms (per the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms): 'freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including the freedom of the press and other media of communication.' Without our knowing, more and more books are withdrawn from the public domain. This raises the question of who determines what is fit to be read" - Saturday, March 1, 10 am to 10am, Sunday, March 2, 2008 - Downtown Millennium Library, 251 Donald Street. Winnipeg, Canada
