The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers and Swets have announced the launch of the 2011 ALPSP Learned Journals Collection. With a total of 1014 titles the 2011 collection is the largest to date, offering libraries access to an unparalleled wealth of high quality electronic content in an affordable manner. There are 7 new publishers making their content available within the 2011 collection, bringing 35 titles with them

DRAPIer: Digital Research And Projects in Ireland

"DRAPIer is an interactive database of Irish digital humanities projects. You can find projects of interest by searching for keywords or browsing by the facets listed on the right hand side of each page. DRAPIer also documents the methods, formats and standards that are being used by the projects so that new projects can learn to use similar techniques, or so established projects can find related work in their field. The controlled vocabularies used by DRAPIer are based on those developed for ICT Guides and currently implemented by arts-humanities.net at the Centre for eResearch, King's College London. Refinement of the vocabularies is ongoing, and the DHO is actively contributing to this work"

The Survey of Library and Museum Digitization Projects, 2011 Edition

The nearly 200 page report looks closely at how academic, public and special libraries and museums are digitizing special and other collections. The study is based on detailed data on costs, equipment use, staffing, cataloging, marketing, licensing revenue and other facets of digitization projects from nearly 100 libraries and museums in the United States, the UK, continental Europe, Canada, and Australia. The study covers and presents data separately for digitizers of photographs, film and video, music and audio, text and re-digitization of existing digital mediums. Data is also broken out by budget size, region of the world, type of institution and other factors. Press+ helps college newspapers generate revenue

Press+, the e-commerce platform created by Journalism Online that enables digital news publishers to collect revenue from readers, has announced that it is adding additional services aimed at helping college newspapers generate income from avid off-campus readers, such as alumni and parents. The Daily O'Collegian of Oklahoma State University will be the first college publication to launch the system on its website, ocolly.com, in early 2011. The paper will collect a small fee from online readers who are outside the school's immediate geographic area and who do not use an email address with an .edu affiliation and who read the paper online more than three times a month. This is achieved by deploying two aspects of the Press+ platform in tandem: the "meter" technology combined with "geo-targeting" technology
