One hundred years ago, on the night of 14 April 1912, RMS Titanic struck an iceberg and sank into the Atlantic Ocean, resulting in the tragic deaths of some 1,517 passengers and crew. Here at The National Archives we have many records about RMS Titanic, including passenger lists, crew lists and the Board of Trade enquiry into the sinking. To commemorate the centenary we have created a new page on our website that includes biographical accounts of individuals on board, short videos and podcasts. You can also search passenger and crew lists from across Titanic, Olympic (Titanic's sister ship) and Carpathia, the ship that rescued the survivors from the lifeboats
