Libraries vs Recession. How libraries can help communities during the economic downturn (UK)
"There are signs that the recession is resulting in an increase in public library use as people turn to free and low cost services. However, libraries can also be an important community resource to help people and businesses cope with the effects of the recession. Libraries can provide information, signpost further sources of information and support, and provide access to other support agencies. This seminar will look at the information needs of communities in a recession, the services that libraries can provide and how to promote the value of library services." 15th October 2009 - Sheffield, UK
