On 23 September 2004 Oxford University Press will publish the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography - the stories of 50,000 men and women who shaped the history of the British Isles and beyond, from the earliest times to the year 2000. A series of events will be held around the UK and Ireland to celebrate the publication. The Oxford DNB is available at the introductory price of £6500 or $11,000 until 30 November 2004
