Microsoft Canada president Frank Clegg receives the Dr. Dayton M. Forman Memorial Award for helping to create a digital library for blind and visually impaired Canadians
Public Library of Science (PLoS), a non-profit organization of scientists and physicians, is launching a public campaign aimed at making the world's scientific and medical literature a public resource. National Archives of Canada: War Diaries of the First World War contains the digitised War Diaries of the Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF) units. From the start of the First World War, CEF units were required to maintain a daily account of their "Actions in the Field." This log was called a War Diary. The War Diaries are not personal diaries, rather they are a historical record of a unit's administration, operations and activities during the First World War

The Library of Congress has completed the $10 million purchase of the only known copy of the 1507 world map by Martin Waldseemüller from Prince Johannes Waldburg-Wolfegg, thanks to the generosity of the Congress of the United States, Discovery Channel, Gerald Lenfest, David Koch and a number of other donors. The map has been in the custody of the Library of Congress since late June 2001, when the Library made an initial down payment toward its purchase

The webwords project aims to enrich the quality of the experience of choosing an audio book for visually impaired users of library catalogues.
